Sister Liz
Heaven Bound is just another name for “Liz Collins”, a Christian guitarist/singer/songwriter who wrote a song in 2002 called “Heaven Bound”. Liz has been singing since she was 3, playing guitar since she was 9 and writing songs since she was 13. Raised a Christian, behind southern rock ‘n roll, she finally gave her writing over to the Lord around 1996.
After performing solo most of her life and after a break from her first band in the 80s called “Midnight Special”, to become a mom and start raising two daughters, Liz returned to her performing and writing in the 1990s and formed a band called “Foxfire”. In those days Foxfire was featured on the Enviro-Aid CD, which include many local artists as well as two international artists such as Kathy Sledge (Sister Sledge) and Rick Emmett (Triumph). Due to publicity surrounding this release, the band made an appearance on the Fox Morning Show and gained airplay on several Philadelphia area radio stations.
In the years that followed, Foxfire recorded their 1st full-length CD release “Forever Free”. After 5 ½ years of performing together, Foxfire’s members broke up to follow individual pursuits. After a 2 ½ year break, Liz reunited with her drummer from Foxfire, Peter Boglino in 2004 with a new direction and energy focused on “rockin for Jesus Christ” which became “Heaven Bound”. Although their new main focus was Christian music, its’ roots could still be found in the southern blues/rock ‘n roll/contemporary rock style.
2005 marked the recording of Heaven Bound’s 1st full-length CD titled “Guiding Path of Light.” In 2008, Liz and Peter came out with their 2nd CD entitled “Who Do You Say I Am?”, available on CDbaby, iTunes, and amazon.com. You can also search youtube for tons of Heaven Bound videos. “Bound for Heaven” living for that “Glorified Body” is their anticipation while still living on this earth, featuring Liz Collins on acoustic guitar and vocals and Pete Boglino on drums, and other guest musicians from time to time, such as David Powers on vocals and lead/rhythm guitar, etc. David is a pastor at Presbyterian Church in Columbia, PA.
Peter and Liz presently help lead a praise and worship team at Hatboro Community Methodist Church, located at 730 Preston Lane, Hatboro, PA on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 (where Liz has worshipped for over 15 years). Please come and join them anytime. They would love to have you worship with them.
To this day, Liz Collins performs solo in many venues, from churches to coffee houses, from benefits to festivals, backyard barbecues, weddings, funerals, as well as prison ministries and addiction anonymous groups and still likes to go by the name “Heaven Bound” whether she is solo or has invited other musicians to praise gig with her. Liz has recorded a number of solo CDs over the years, from “Give Me Flowers” in 1995, “Back to San Francisco” in 1998, to her 1st Christian solo “Faith is the Key” in 2004 to “Be True to Yourself” in 2010. With Christ as her guiding light and rock, and a funky, bluesy style to move your spirit, who knows where GOD will lead this “woman of musical faith” spreading the message of Jesus Christ in song and praises.
